Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai has expressed his gratitude to the people of Yobe South for electing him as their senator in the just-concluded election held on February 25, 2023. In a press release issued on April 15, 2023, the senator thanked his supporters for their resilience and tenacity in ensuring his victory.
The senator, who was declared the winner after a careful review of the election results, expressed his commitment to bringing people-oriented projects and programs to Yobe South. He acknowledged that there were challenges during the election, including outright and open detractors who resorted to anti-party activities to frustrate his election.
However, he forgave all those who opposed him within and outside his party, saying he had faith in Allah, who gives what he wants to a person and at a time He wishes. The senator called on his opponents to join hands with him in moving Yobe South forward.
In his message to the communities who have not benefited from his projects and programs during his first term, the senator assured them of his resolve to bring more projects and programs to them in his second term. He noted that the limitations of financial resources of the government and the competing demands of a big nation like Nigeria make it humanly impossible to meet the demands of all.
The senator also thanked His Excellency Hon Mai Mala Buni, the Governor of Yobe State, APC stakeholders, community leaders, party supporters, women, youths, clubs associations, friends, associates, and his family for their unflinching support in the realization of a second term to serve his people.
He gave special commendation to the Bomai support group, his aides, and the media team for their relentless and wonderful job in disseminating his achievements and mobilization for his victory at the polls.
The senator prayed to Allah to continue to bring peace and prosperity to Nigeria, Yobe State, and Yobe South, and to give him the capacity and guidance to do more in his second term.

Distinguished Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai is an accomplished Public Servant and an Accountant per excellence who served the former Borno State, Federal College of Education (Technical) Potiskum and the Federal Government.
Early Life and Education A humble, taciturn, urbane intelligent but highly un-assuming, Distinguished Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai was born in Maiduguri. He started his Primary Education at Argungu when his father was under the service of the defunct Northern Nigeria Government and completed it in 1972 at the prestigious Shehu Garbai primary School in Maiduguri, as his father moved to Maiduguri upon creation of the North Eastern State.
Distinguished Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai had his secondary education at the then famous Government Secondary School Maiduguri from 1973- 1977 that was later renamed Government College Maiduguri. After completing his secondary education, he proceeded to kaduna polytechnic where he obtained his Ordinary National Diploma in 1980 and Higher National Diploma in 1982 both in Accountancy.
After completing his National Youth Service at the College of Education Nsugbe in Anambra State in 1983, where he served as a lecturer he got appointment into the service of Borno State Accelerated Development Agricultural Programme as Finance Officer and later moved to Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri as a Senior Accountant in 1985 and rose to the position of a Principal Accountant and Acting Bursar in 1986. On the establishment of the Federal College of Education (Technical) Potiskum in 1988 he was appointed as Assistant Chief Accountant and Acting Bursar of the Institution. His exceptional and creditable performance led to his confirmation as the pioneer substantive Bursar of the College. After successful completion of his tenure as the Bursar of that College he transferred his service to the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation in 2002 and was posted as an Assistant Director to the Federal Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory as Head of Audit and was later appointed as the Auditor-General of the Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Distinguished Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai was appointed to the exalted position of Director Treasury of the Federal Capital Territory Administration in 2008 a position which is akin to that of an Accountant General of a State. He executed this position marvelously well and improved revenue generation of the Federal Capital Territory as well as brought robust deployment e-accounting software which eased Financial Management towards attaining cost effective and efficient utilization of government finances. As the Director FCT Treasury, the Distinguished Senator had served as Acting Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory on a number of occasions.

Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai during his public service career acquired higher academic qualifications, professional certificates, membership of professional bodies, commendations, awards, other accolades and recognitions. He obtained Post Graduate Dipoma in Financial management and Masters Degree in Business Administration from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi as well as professional certificates in Finance and Management at Harvard, Cambridge Boston in the United States and the London School of Management.

During his service at the defunct Ministry of Federal Capital Territory and Federal Capital Territory Administration, the Distinguished Senator left an indelible mark of performance and achievements as a member or Chairman of numerous committees that have added significant value towards functional, effective and efficient management of both capital and human resources. The Senator representing Yobe South Senatorial District, Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai has commenced the distribution of 17,200 bags of rice as Ramadan package to the needy and down trodden people of his Constituency of Yobe South.The package comprised of 14,400 bags of rice of 10KG and 2,800 bags of rice of 25 KG.The distribution covers Potiskum, Nangere, Fune and Fika Local Government Areas of his Constituency of Yobe South.

Alhaji Bodori further stressed that Senator Bomai urged the committees in charge of the distribution of the items to make sure that justice and fairness prevailed so that the items should reach the targeted beneficiaries.

The Senator representing Yobe South Senatorial District, Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai has received with sadness, the news of the demise of the eldest son of the Emir of Fika, Adamu Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa, who died Saturday after a brief illness.
The condolence message was conveyed in a statement by his Legislative Assistant, Yakubu Garba Shaho on Saturday.
